Wesleyan Reform Union of Churches
Theology Training Programme
Christian Theology in Belief and Practice
Welcome to the Theology Training Programme page.
The Wesleyan Reform Union are a group of Independent Churches located throughout the United Kingdom. We have recently been certificated by CPD (Continuing Professional Development) to offer a Theology Training course which will benefit many people entering Church or Christian Ministry for the first time or who is looking to develop their skills further.
This course has been developed over many year to provide the student with a deeper personal study of God’s Word and the Christian faith to which you belong, but also to provide a means of training and developing the next generation of Church leaders, within our Union of Churches, to external organisations, including ordination into Christian Church Ministry, Hospital, Armed Forces and Business Chaplaincy.
The materials have been developed in such a way to make them within reach not just of academics, but also to lay people both within Churches and without, and to provide opportunities to study the major topics associated with the Christian Faith.
We wish to acknowledge the late Geoffrey Lee BD ALBC for the wonderful work that he did in writing and developing this programme of learning and also for the work he did as Union Tutor. Much of the course has been revised and re-written to meet with accreditation regulations but also to update it for Contemporary Christian Ministry.
Please read the information below and if you are interested in participating in the Course please contact us via email via the link below.
Many Blessings

COURSE OVERVIEW
The Wesleyan Reform Union’s Christian Theology in Belief and Practice Learning Programme consists currently of 3 Parts. They are the following:
Part 1: God and Man, comprising of 11 topics and associated assignments.
Part 2: The Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, comprising of 10 topics and associated assignments.
Part 3: The Church and the Kingdom, comprising of 10 topics and associated assignments.
The training programme is designed for those who want to be involved in a deeper study of God’s Word and its relation to Christian Living. The whole programme is entitled “Christian Theology in belief and practice.” This training programme was written and developed by Reverend Geoffrey Lee who was a tutor in the London School of Theology for 60 years, as well as the WRU Tutor, before being promoted to glory in 2019. It is intended to encourage the student to a closer study of God’s Word and expound its truth within their fellowships of Churches.
The course is a home- based, self-study, distance learning programme with assignments submitted to tutors electronically, who will assess and mark the work giving feedback on the students’ progress all the way through the course. Each Assignment will be marked by your tutor, and a 25% sample of your work will be second marked by the Internal Quality Assurance and Course Leader.
Home- based, self-study distance learning programmes are designed so that the learner can take however much time they want to take as they progress through their studies. The student will be presented at the beginning of each module with the course pack and all of the associated documentation, as well as the email address, and telephone number of their tutor. A zoom video link will also be provided so that each student can meet with their tutor to help them get started.
A recommended reading list is also supplied both in this document and throughout the course materials
