WOMEN OF ACTION
Wesleyan Reform Union of Churches

'To encourage and support all women of the church community in their faith and witness'

  January 2024

Dear Friends

Happy New Year.  I do hope you have all had a good Christmas and are staying safe through this stormy weather.  This letter is to let you know all that the Women of Action are planning and to invite you and any of the ladies in your church, or friendship groups to come along and join with us.

As was said last year, we were really blessed by the 'He restores My Soul' events.  It was good to see so many ladies from all over the country meeting up and spending a morning focusing on the health of our own soul.  We know many were touched by God during those encounters and we were all challenged and encouraged.  This year we are going to be focusing on having a 'Solid Foundation'  We will be looking at Jesus as our rock and how we build our lives on Him to strengthen and guide us through the waves of life.  We are excited to be able to share this, and are praying that God will use this to encourage and support all the ladies within our union of churches and further a field.
The dates and venues for this year are:
Dorrington              LN4 3QA           9th March                     Contact: Joyce Turner      01526  832 334
Stoney Middleton   S32 4TD            8th June                       Contact: Beth Ely              01433 631 887
Bozeat                    NN29 7JP          21st September           Contact: Ellie Minney       07816 145 187
We will start at 10:30 (doors open from 10 for refreshments).  Each one will be a morning of worship, prayer, teaching, discussion and reflection either over breakfast or followed by lunch, so pop these dates in your diary, let others know too, and book your places at the one that is nearest to you.

We will also be meeting together at Griffydam Chapel LE67 8HP on Saturday 16th March 10:30 am.  We will have time to catch up with friends, share what God is doing in our lives and the lives of our churches and also to pray for the women of our Union and the work of the WA.  We will finish the morning by having lunch together (bring a packed lunch with you, drinks provided).  We would love to have more of you join with us as we start 2024 leaning into God and all that He has for us in the year ahead.

The Women of Action AGM, which is open to all ladies within a WRU church, will be on Saturday 27th  April at Hampden View Church Sheffield S6 2TQ.  Coffee will be served from 10am, with prayer, teaching and discussion starting at 10:30.  Lunch will be provided, so for catering purposes please let me know how many from your church/circuit will be attending (details below).  The AGM will start after lunch and we aim to finish at about 3:30 pm.  Please find attached the agenda and minutes from the 2023 AGM.

We are looking forward with excitement and eagerness to spread the good news of Jesus to even more ladies and seeing what God will do with us and through us as we are attentive and obedient to His leading.  May God bless you all as we look forward with anticipation for all that will be 2024.
