Overseas Missions

Hello Everyone,

I would like to thank everyone for their continued support both prayerfully and financially for the WRU Overseas Missions work. We could not do this without you and appreciate you all.

What a God we serve His purpose His plan and His provision He loves us so much!

“God united Himself to human existence and moved space and time as our human partner” (Bruce Milne).

As we come to this season, we start to plan our celebrations for our wonderful Saviours birth Jesus Christ. He is our example to live by and a life to live. (Matthew 20:28) The King of Kings and Lord of Lords Amen.

Do we know our purpose our plan and our provision? We can all stop and reflect at this time of year and to check our foundations and the resources we have. United together within our Union of Churches we can make a difference.

I am very grateful for having this opportunity to share with you the WRU Overseas Missions new project for 2019-2020. We are raising funds for a Cystoscope, which is an internal scanning device for the bladder and prostate at the Good News Hospital in Mandritsara, Madagascar. The Union has a retired Doctor Lesley Notghi, who is one of our missionary personnel, and has been working in this hospital since 2016 and she has made us aware of the conditions and needs there. In order to do the work they do, they need continued support!

We are very fortunate to have committed Christian brothers and sisters, who are in fact representing us as a body of believers over many parts of the world. (Matthew 28:19) They need our continued support!  Our unity in our purpose, plan and provision, makes a great difference in some of the most difficult and challenging places in the world.

As I have taken on the role of Overseas Mission secretary, I have looked back at the many projects and missionaries we as a Union have supported, and also the wonderful work which has been completed under the guidance of Jan Shephard. We are very thankful for God’s provision, and the support of the WRU, and we pray it continues to reach many in need.

When the committee last met we discussed how we can utilise the great resources we have within the Union, and how best we can use them for future work under the banner of purpose, plan, and provision as we need to check that our resources are being used wisely.

As a body of believers, the servant test is simply how we respond to the opportunities God gives us to be a blessing to others. It reveals whether we really and truly want to help people or whether we just want to be seen doing so.

We can also offer short and long term grants to support Christians within the Union who are called into missionary work overseas. If you require further information, please contact me.

We value your prayers and financial support for the Overseas Missions and the projects and missionaries we are supporting this year.  The Good News Hospital is very basic but provides a Christian loving environment for both physical treatment and healing as well as the Spiritual sharing of the Word of God the Good News!

The picture below really spoke to us the need for our support of this project.

In you need any information about this project or the work of the Overseas Mission and any ideas you may have for future projects please contact me or one of the team.

God’s richest blessing to you all this coming season!  What a wonderful God we serve and we are thankful for His Purpose Plan and Provision.

Yours in Christ
Lindsey Hedley
Overseas Mission Secretary
