NaCTSO - National Counter Terrorism Security Office security guide (click to download) |
|
This guide is intended to give protective security advice to those who are responsible for security in places of worship. It is aimed at those places where there may be a risk of a terrorist attack either because of the nature of the place of worship or the number of people who congregate in it. The guide seeks to reduce the risk of a terrorist attack and limit the damage an attack might cause. It highlights the vital part you can play in the UK counter terrorism strategy. |

The Churches’ Legislation Advisory Service (CLAS) is a Judaeo-Christian ecumenical body bringing together the interests of Christian Churches and the Jewish community in their dealings with Government in all its aspects (other than education). Its primary role is as a vehicle for conveying to the Government the views of the churches on legislation and other matters which directly affect them and likewise as a channel through which the Government can consult the churches as a whole on such matters. |

| VETTING AND BARRING SCHEME: Latest Information |
| The
communications team at the Vetting and Barring Scheme are pleased to announce
that full guidance about the Scheme can be downloaded for free from
here.
This document contains details on: The scope of the Scheme; Barring arrangements; Responsibilities and duties for both employers and volunteer organisers, and the duties for those individuals you take on; Timescales for the phased implementation of the Scheme; Explanation of transitional arrangements around Scheme introduction. In response to the overwhelming interest in the subject, the guidance makes special mention of those areas where the Scheme does not apply and discusses the points raised by Sir Roger Singleton when he reported into the boundaries of the Scheme in December 2009. This full guidance release will be followed by a suite of 'sector specific' guidance documents, which will show how the Scheme will be applied in different areas of work and volunteering activities and will be published by our partners from the appropriate government departments. Printed copies can be obtained by ringing 0300-123-1111 and the document (74 pages) is available to download from the Union web site (See link above). |
